This geocache is hidden on the Chesney Tract of the Kentucky River Wildlife Management Area. Please be aware that this is an active hunting area, so wear orange and be very careful or avoid the area altogether during active hunting seasons. Most of the caches are hidden along old farm roads or mowed areas along the ridgelines. For best results, study the topo maps to avoid needless hiking of ups and downs, unless you just like that kind of stuff.
Around these parts, the only good reason to wear orange (other than an occasional Syracuse fan), is if you're strolling around a WMA trying to avoid getting hunted. Thusly, this is a challenge cache, with the container located at the given coordinates. To claim this cache as a find, you must physically find and sign the log and you must meet the 2 challenge requirements. The 2 requirements are;
- Find 250 caches with the HUNTING AREAS attribute and
- Find 250 caches with either the MEDIUM HIKE, LONG HIKE or SIGNIFICANT HIKE attribute
Caches with both attributes can be counted for each requirement, so it is possible to meet the requirements with a minimum of 250 finds. See the challenge checker below for verification.
The cache container is a camoed Rx bottle, with only a log. It is tethered in place by a zip tie and/or nylon string. The log is vinyl, so a sharpie style pen works best.
I meet the qualifications of the challenge with 1436 Hunting Area attributes and 1162 finds with Medium, Long or Significant Hike attributes.
