About the area: Torrisholme Barrow was the old Law Hill of the Lancaster area which fell out of use following the construction of Lancaster Castle. The name Torrisholme Barrow also reflects the presence of a historic burial mound, designated as a “round barrow” on the Lancashire County Council monuments and records listing. The Trig point on Torrisholme Barrow is also listed on WayMarking.com (see below for link). The area is only a short walk from Bare Lane Railway Station.
