Budakeszin volt a család nyaralója, ahol Erkel is sokat megfordult. Egyesek szerint a Himnuszt is itt írta. A Művelődési Ház is Erkel nevét viseli. A Fő utcai parkban van a szobra és emléktábla van az Erkel utcában a nyaralóházon. A Himnusz szobor is tisztelgés Erkel előtt, ahogy Budapest felől megérkezünk Budakeszire, a Szanatórium buszmegállónál.
