Steer Ridge Road has beautiful views in all directions, and this spot is no exception. The area is full of rocks just waiting for someone to take a seat.
In the interest of not making this hide a needle in a haystack, the cache is not in the rocks. It's also not in any of the bushes, which have sprouts of poison oak growing up in them. Check the bay trees behind the rocks. There are PO-free paths on either side that will get you safely into a little clearing. From there, the cache should be visible. You're looking for a small, black bison on a hanger.
The closest parking is at Hunting Hollow. Park hours are 24/7. Please be cautious of the usual hazards like poison oak, thistles, ticks, rattlesnakes, and mountain lions.
Happy hunting!
