Geocache Description:


Salt Rock

Could be high muggler area at times. So choose your times wisely and be discreet. Enjoy a walk on the beach while you are visiting the cache.

Small container log and pencil only.....

check the clue co ordinates taken on 1April 2018 so could be a April fool .....

Salt Rock offers bathing, surfing, rock pools, snorkelling and boat launch sites and are a good choice if you are looking to avoid the crowds. It is a hot spot for spear fishing and scuba diving. At Salt Rock, access to the beach is through and along side private properties .

Casuarina Westbrook

Pretty Westbrook Beach, lying between La Mercy and Ballito on the north coast roughly a half hour drive from Umhlanga is a pretty beach with sands that stretch for miles. As one continues along the stretch of road parallel to Westbrook Beach, the sea crashing onto the shore to Casuarina Westbrook one's right, the road noticeably narrows as the grassy bank to one's left rises and reveals the beginnings of typical coastline vegetation of these parts, milkwood tree dense with lush folliage to match the sticky, hot summers that draw people to this coastline.

Willard Beach

Willard Beach provides safe swimming with qualified lifeguards seven days a week, and is protected by shark nets. Is a designated launch area for watercraft. Is popular among surfers. The Ballito Inflatable Boat Salmon Beach clubhouse is also located here.

Clarke Bay

Clarke Bay is manned by lifeguards and protected by shark nets to ensure a high level of safety and worry-free fun in the sun. Just south of Clarke Bay is the Ballito tidal pool where some interesting sea life can be found.

Thompson’s Bay

Thompson’s Bay can be found just north of Ballito. This extremely popular beach has both qualified lifeguards and shark nets to ensure the safety of the swimmers. Also found at Thompson’s Bay is Charlie’s Pool, a large tidal pool providing safe swimming conditions for both young and old alike. Give the kids a net and let them go explore!

Zimbali Beach

Zimbali Beach is located within the Zimbali Beach Estate. The 3km of unspoilt beach offer beach goers the contrasting beauty of the rich green forest of the estate and the warm blue Indian Ocean.

Salt Rock

Bury your feet into these warm soft sands or dip your toes into the tempting waters at Westbrook Beach. Lifeguards on duty and surrounding shark nets ensure a safe swimming beach for all the family to enjoy. Take the kids to the rock pools and enjoy an afternoon of exploring all the fascinating creatures of the sea. Gently stroke the side of the anemones or feel the sandpaper texture of the starfish, feel how slimy and strange the sea-cucumbers feel and watch the whelks make their way slowly along the rocks. Water sports are popular here, including kayaking, body boarding and of course surfing. Angler’s fish from the shores and there is a boat launch spot for those venturing further out.

Zinkwazi Beach

Further up the N2, north of Ballito, is Zinkwazi Beach. This is a breathtakingly beautiful beach with wide expanses of golden sand, lush tropical vegetation, large dunes and exhilarating waves. Zinkwazi is also an excellent fishing and diving spot and is well worth the short trip north.

Tinley Manor Beach

Tinley Manor Sprawling beaches and a tranquil lagoon are what the magic of Tinley Manor is all about. This coastal area of KwaZulu Natal is close to the beachfront buzz of Ballito and promises spectacular summer holidays for the whole family. There are shark nets on these beaches all year around, and there are life guards during the peak holiday season. Warm waters that are popular for swimming, stand-up paddling, surfing, sailing, paddle-skiing, windsurfing, fishing, and kitesurfing. But, for little ones or those unsure of the water, there is a calm tidal pool. Anglers love standing on the rocks or the beach and trying their luck at landing a big one. The reefs are ideal for spear-fishing, as well as for snorkelling and SCUBA diving; thanks to the huge variety of colourful fish, anemones and crustaceans. Between June and December, whales pass this part of South Africa, but the resident dolphins can be seen in the warm waters all year round.
