Geocache Description:

The 4th and 5th graders of Girl Scout Troop 2720 (Springtown, TX) created this multicache as part of our journey to earning the Geocacher badge, and to hopefully inspire local geocachers to visit some of Springtown's most inspiring locations. This multicache is designed to help you walk in the footsteps of both literal and figurative giants from our hometown. We also chose our stage locations to help replace a recently-defunct/removed cache in this area.

There are two stages to this multicache, and the route between the two stages is less than 0.5 miles across mostly flat and nicely mulched or gravel trails. The first stage is a small cache which contains a laminated note with more details about your mission and coordinates to the final stage, a regular cache with logbook, pen, and plenty of goodies including some handmade art and poetry from our Troop. If you'd like to bring some of your own artwork or poetry to put in this cache, please keep it smaller than 3x5".

If you're in a hurry, you could probably complete both stages in under 30 minutes, although we recommend you take your time to make a short scenic detour (details can be found within the first stage!). We ask that you please be respectful of the surroundings while visiting our multicache, and observe the "Leave No Trace" principles by taking nothing from nature and removing any trash from the area if you are able to.

The trailhead and both cache stages can be accessed any time, but we recommend only daytime visits. The school to the north of the trailhead has a walking track and parking lot available for public use after 4pm on weekdays and anytime on weekends, or you may use the parking lot located to the south of the trailhead in the city park anytime.

First stage container is a pill bottle painted black with official Geocaching label. It contains only a laminated note with further instructions. Second stage is a 5.5" lock-lid container, also painted black and with official GC label. Some swag is loose in container and some is bagged to protect from the elements. Log book and pen are also bagged. Please replace all contents as you found them. Beware of fire ants and mosquitos at both stage locations!

Pease replace the cache stages in exactly the same location, and be careful not to be seen by non-cachers. You do not need to climb on or crawl under anything to locate either stage. Please contact us if either stage goes missing.

We have a special FTF prize available for the first person to solve our multicache, it is bagged separately within the 2nd stage container on top of the log book!

We also placed a trackable in the cache on 4/10/18, please help this special coin make its way around the world--it was released into the wild in 2007 and has logged less than 50 miles and 3 caches since then! We'd love to see it go far. The trackable is bagged separately within the 2nd stage, along with more info about the coin from its creator.

Thanks for geocaching with us! To keep our cache a challenge, please share any spoilery photos you took along the way privately with us instead of in the log comments! -- Girl Scout Troop 2720, Springtown TX.
