This is lovely place to walk, especially in the spring time when the birds are singing and everything is coming into bloom. There are snowdrops in early spring, bluebells and rhododendron flowers later and then the meadow flowers during the summer and of course in the autumn when the leaves are turning it changes again. Enjoy your time here, you may even spot a fellow cacher walking their dog.
This was the site of Snibston Grange, where a George Vaughan , one of George Stephenson's specialist engineers and for many years the manager of Snibston Colliery, lived. It later became a late Victorian arboretum. Now there is a diverse range of mature native and foreign species of tree. It also has a wetland area with a board walk, an established wildflower meadow and two well-stocked fishing lakes. This part of Snibston Country Park was declared Leicestershire County Council's first Local Nature Reserve in May 1993 and is now an important ecological site for wildlife.
Your gps may play up here due to the tree cover so maybe it is time to use cachers instincts instead.
