Stout Park Traditional Cache

One of the thing that suprises most out-of-towners about Detroit is the recent upswing of environmental work that's going on in the city.  Urban comunity gardens and mom-and-pop farms are rapidly sprouting up all over Detroit. Urban farming is inspiring city-grown fresh food, supporting environmental stewardship and bringing together community members.  Often times, these farms repurpose land that was abandonded and full of trash.   This area was an over-run park that has been turned into a fledgling orchard as not many of the trees here produce fruit yet.
