An easy drive by cache and dash. It's placed here so you can look west towards Drumlanrig Castle and its surroundings, nestled in Nithsdale. Between where you are standing and the castle are two main roads, the A76 and the A702 plus the Glasgow and Southwest main line and the River Nith. Locally you are near to Drum farm, which is just visible over to the right. To the left and through the trees is Dabton. Unfortunately Drumlanrig Castle isn't lived in, but hosts a vibrant visitor centre and formal gardens. Waymarked walks and cycle runs are popular as are tours of the castle.
