Additional Activity: This event is at the Clark County Lewisville Regional Park. It will be at the Maple Picnic Shelter I-1 This is Clark County's oldest park and is considered their flagship park. Come spend the morning finding a few of the many caches located inside the park, or spend some time with your geo-dog walking the trails in the park there are over 2.5 miles of trails just a short distance from the picnic.  You can also bring your bike if you would like to ride around on the trails.

The Potluck:

Picnicking: Besides what’s in the shelter there are a few more tables not far from the shelter that we can spread out on. As always it might be a good idea to bring along favorite chair, if you want to be sure of having a comfortable place to sit.

Also there is a large field, so we can have games.  And also a horse shoe pit if anyone has horse shoes to bring.  There is also many trails for riding bikes – or hiking (lots of caches close by).

Food & Drink: We’ll have hamburgers, and hot dogs on the grill, plus all the fixin’s. For beverages we will have soda, water and ice. This is a potluck so please bring a dish, side dish, or desert to share.

Potluck Food List:

Below is a list of food and some ideas of what to bring for the potluck. Please let us know what you’re bringing in your log and we’ll add you to the list, if you want you could bring a dish that goes along with the theme. There is only a limited amount of power in the shelter so if you plan to bring something requiring power such as a crockpot it would be best to mention that in your log so that I can plan accordingly – as I need to make sure there is a table and power strip by the power.

Parking Information: Please be aware that there is only a limited amount of parking at the shelter (but the park does have a lot of parking). Please consider carpooling and arriving early if possible. If you cannot find a spot in the lot or prefer to walk in from another part of the park, please feel free to briefly double park in the area closest to the shelter while you drop off any potluck items or other things that want to have with you at the picnic.

Volunteers needed: We need one or preferably two people that enjoy grilling and would like to cook and monitor the potluck area, message WSGA Southwest Chapter, squirrel50 or post in your log if you’d like to do some of the cooking. However I want to mention that we won’t be strapping you to the grill, we’ll take turns so no one will be stuck cooking the entire time.

Additionally we can always use a volunteer or two to help with setup and / or take down. Message WSGA Southwest Chapter, squirrel50 or post in your log if you’d like to volunteer.

RSVP: When you log your will attend, please make sure to let us know in your log what you will be bringing for food to the potluck. We will add your name to the list and what you bringing. This will help to increase the variety of food available.

Additional information: There is no Alcohol allowed at the event. There is a parking fee if you drive in. Daily parking fees are:

$2 for motorcycles
$3 for vehicles
$6 for vehicles with trailers
$8 for buses or motor homes

These are parking fees, not entrance fees. There is no charge for people who walk or bicycle into the park.

For attendees, there is water at the shelter, as well as power (one outlet), and the restrooms are nearby. Your well behaved Geo-dog is welcome at the picnic per-park rules on a leash. This area is handicap accessible – and we are close to the water

Your WSGA membership is what makes events like this and others possible. If you enjoy attending these events please support us by joining or renewing your WSGA membership. Thank you.
