FTF: tbociat congrats!
RO: Cartierul Iosefin, în germană Josephstadt, în maghiară Józsefkülváros, Iosefinul este unul dintre cele mai vechi cartiere din Timişoara. Numele său provine de la cel al imparatului Iosif al II-lea, în timpul domniei căruia a fost întemeiat. Iosefinul, numit iniţial “Maierele Vechi”, a fost proiectat de la început ca un sat de colonişti germani, de-o parte şi de alta a Canalului Bega.

EN: The Iosefin district, in the German language Josephstadt, in the Hungarian language Józsefkülváros, Iosefin is one of the oldest districts in Timisoara. Its name comes from that of Emperor Joseph II, during whose reign it was founded. Iosefin, originally called “Old Maierele”, was originally designed as a village of German colonists on both sides of the Bega Canal.
