DIRECTION :
A l'entrée du bourg, au niveau du rond point prendre la route du Mare Capron, l’Habitation Grand-Fond est repérable par sa très grande allée de palmiers.
LE SITE :
Autrefois plantée de cannes à sucre, cette exploitation servait à alimenter l’usine du Marin pour la confection du sucre. Avec la fermeture de cette dernière en 1969, les étendues de cannes ont laissée place à des savanes d’herbe qui sont actuellement conditionnées en ballots et utilisées par les éleveurs. D’autre part un important cheptel de bovin occupe majestueusement ses pentes.
Dans le sous-sol une importante nappe phréatique coule, la moins affectée par la pollution dans toute l’île. On trouve aussi un puit qui était utilisé autrefois par les habitants du quartier.
Deux bras de rivière sont alimentés au nord-est par les eaux qui descendent du flanc du Morne Sulpice et se rencontrent au milieu du terrain formant en Y une seule rivière, la rivière Manuel, qui coule direction sud-ouest, puis sud-est jusque dans la mangrove à côté de l’usine, actuellement à droite de Carène-Antilles.
En poursuivant la visite, on aperçoit les ruines de l’ancienne habitation et notamment les ruines de l’ancienne écurie. Une fois l’habitation passée, on aborde les hauteurs et naturellement la vue est imprenable.
LA CACHE :
Une fois que vous avez trouvé une place pour votre voiture sur le parking prévu, le site est très facile d'accès. La cache de petite taille magnétique contient originellement le log mais pas de crayon. Apportez donc votre crayon (BYOP) et soyez extrêmement discret, l’endroit est très fréquenté. SVP replacez la cache exactement à l’endroit où vous l’avez trouvé.

DIRECTION :
In the entrance of the village, at the level of the traffic circle to set off of Mare Capron, the Habitation Grand fond is locatable by its very big path of palm trees.
THE SITE:
Formerly planted by sugar canes, this exploitation served to feed the factory of the Marin for the preparation of the sugar. With the closure of the latter in 1969, the areas of sticks gave way to savannas of grass which are at present conditioned in bundles and used by the breeders. On the other hand an important livestock of bovine occupies majestically its slopes.
In the basement an important groundwater pours, the least the affected by the pollution on all the island. We also find a well which was formerly used by the local residents.
Two arms of river are fed in the northeast by waters which come down'from the side of Morne Sulpice and meet in the middle of the ground forming Y a single river, a river Manuel, who pours southwest direction, then southeast to the mangrove swamp next to the factory, at present to the right of Carène-Antilles.
By pursuing the visit, we perceive the ruins of the former house in particular the ruins of the former stable. Once the house was crossed, we approach heights and naturally the view is impregnable.
THE CACHE :
When you found a place for your car on the parking lot, the site is very easily accessible. The small-sized magnétic hiding place contains originally the log but no pencil.
