Geocache Description:

Lost at Sea

Bjørn carried the letter to his sister in Sønderho. He knew what was in the letter because he had delivered the same type of letter several times before in the last couple of years. It was a letter from the authorities to inform his sister that her husband was lost at sea.

Many men on the island had decided to join allied service. And many men, over thirty from Fanø alone, had been killed or lost at sea. Now Bjørns brother in law was among them.

As he walked up the path he could see his sister at the window. She saw him, and he could tell by her face that she knew he carried the worst of news. Bjørn braced himself and stepped into his sisters’ house. At times like this he hated being a postman.
