This cache is placed not far from a remarkable bridge that is made the more remarkable (for cachers) by the addition of an extreme cache called Bramblers Last Hurrah set in 2011 by a legendary cacher from Surrey who set a good number of interesting and entertaining caches in Southeast England, almost always a challenge and often extreme in terrain if not in general difficulty. In 2013, he moved away and the Southeast's loss was the East Midlands gain.
We mention Bramblers Last Hurrah here because it is on the Downs Link trail, and so is included in our Downs Link Bookmark List, but its inclusion is NOT a suggestion that you should be stopping to do it just because it is there. By all mean take a walk down the steps and admire the bridge from below but . . . please do not attempt it unless you have the skills and have brought the equipment necessary to do so safely!!!.
Our cache is part of a series created with cycling in mind. It can of course be found on foot though, from wherever you may begin or end your caching journey, you will probably need to return along the same route or use 2 cars, leaving your second at another point along the trail.
We have created a list of this series including caches set by other owners nearby along the Downs Link trail. We will add new caches to the list as they are created :) Downs Link Bookmark List
More general information about this series can be found on Downs Link - Garden Centre? which is the first cache of the group heading north from West Grinstead Old Station, recognised as the midpoint of the Downs Link bridleway.
