Dreamland Traditional Cache

Dreamland. This cache will take you to the legendary Taborian Hall home of Dreamland Ballroom. Erected in 1918 this building was once the central fixture of religious expression, fraternal support, economic progress and entertainment in the African American community. Rescued from ruin in1990 by Kerry McCoy who had a vision to save the building and move her business into it, the building is now on the National Register of Historic Places. Please take the time to read all of the signs on the side of the building as they tell the story not only of the building but of 9^th street which was once the center for black businesses and culture in Little Rock. Inside the building you will find a scrapbook that Kerry has put together of pictures that were taken as she restored the last remaining original building on the 9^th street “Line” as it used to be called.
