The quarry is in need of a good litter pick as the discarded rubbish is detracting from the quarrys pleasure, not just for geocachers but the caving community in general. If is felt that unless something is done to remove the build up it could remain and just get worse. Some is non degradable and unless removed will be there forever. The CITO will start from the area known as Clapham Junction at noon and teams will be assigned tasks and head off from there with a guide. To find Clapham Junction, Descend into the crater and from the bottom climb up to the left and through the narrow crawl. Follow the well trodden part to an obvious T junction with a level path to the right and a descending path to the left. Take this passage and follow it down into a high chamber, past the loading bay, up a slope to a drystone wall and having passed through the gap in the wall descend to Clapham Junction. So to clarify, Brown's Folly Quarry, 9th June 2018, noon at Clapham Junction. Numbers will be restricted to 20 people so if you want to come please log, intend to attend. The usual equipment of stout boots, helmet, gloves, head torch etc. If you have a battery powered hand vacuum cleaner then that could be helpful. We will be supplying black bags and will dispose of them. Some dustpan and brushes will be available.
