Welcome to Cassington!
We thought it would be nice to place a Geocache in our village and give cachers a short tour at the same time!
So, visit all the landmarks, answer our questions to obtain the code and then head to the final location where a sneakily hidden cache awaits discovery.
*** A PEN AND TWEEZERS ARE REQUIRED ***
You can usually park in the village hall car park, which is where our tour begins...
VILLAGE HALL
Our village hall holds many community events and classes.
Drama productions, cinema evenings, race nights and even black-tie dinners!
Question - When was the Village Hall built?
ST PETER'S CHURCH
St Peter's Church is almost 900 years old!
The bells still work - if you visit on a Thursday evening you may be treated to a performance.
Question - When was "Roger" the vicar of Cassington (don't be shy, the front door is always open)?
THE PUB
The Pub is the focal point of our village.
It has pool, darts and Aunt Sally teams.
Question - How many windows does the pub have (the clue is in the colour)?
THE WAR MEMORIAL
The villagers are proud of the war memorial and of the brave men from Cassington who are remembered on it.
Each year, on Remembrance Sunday, a service is held to remember those who gave their lives.
Question - How many names are on the War Memorial?
Now that you have the information, the cache is at the following co-ordinates:
N 51° 47. (VH - CH) - (PUB + 47)
W 001° 20. (VH-CH) - (WM + 117)
You can check your answers for this puzzle on GeoChecker.com.
Good luck and enjoy the tour!
