Un antica misteriosa leggenda circonda la torre di avvistamento, risalente al medioevo, vicino al lago di Casoli.
Si dice che sul colle boscoso un mattino furono ritrovati sulle rive del fiume Aventino, i corpi di 5 soldati facenti parte del corpo di guardia di stanza nella Torretta; i soldati erano stati orrendamente trucidati e buttati per un dirupo da un gruppo di briganti della Campania.
L'eccidio sarebbe stato compiuto per poter nascondere nei sotterranei della torretta un tesoro favoloso tra cui una chioccia con dodici pulcini d'oro massiccio a grandezza naturale. Gli stessi briganti furono poi spaventati dai fantasmi dei soldati uccisi da loro stessi.
Tutt'ora secondo credenza molto diffusa, la torretta è ancora abitata da streghe e fantasmi che custodiscono il tesoro e nelle notti di plenilunio si sentono urla strazianti in tutta la valle.
Ma la leggenda non finisce qua.
Si dice anche che tanti anni fa, un contadino mentre lavorava i campi, in prossimità della torretta, trovò un forziere pieno di monete d’oro; secondo alcuni si trattava del tesoro dei signori di Prata, per altri dell’oro dei briganti, per altri ancora del tesoro delle fate.
Mentre si cercava di capire di chi fosse mai quella fortuna, del contadino e delle sue monete d’oro non si ebbe più notizia! Forse il contadino non prese tutto il tesoro dalla torretta, forse c'è ancora qualcosa nascosto e sta a voi trovarlo..... E loggarlo.
Per trovarlo è necessario entrare nella torre.
La porta principale è un po' dura da aprire e servirà un po' di forza bruta. Attenzione a non provocare danni.

An ancient mysterious legend surrounds the watch tower, dating back to the Middle Ages, near the Casoli lake.
It is said that on the wooded hill one morning they were found on the banks of the Aventino river, the bodies of 5 soldiers belonging to the guard room stationed in the Torretta; the soldiers had been horribly slaughtered and thrown for a cliff by a group of brigands from Campania.
The massacre would have been accomplished in order to hide a fabulous treasure in the basement of the turret, including a hen with twelve solid-sized gold chicks. The brigands themselves were then frightened by the ghosts of the soldiers killed by themselves.
Still according to widespread belief, the turret is still inhabited by witches and ghosts that guard the treasure and on the full moon nights you hear screeching screams throughout the valley.
But the legend does not end here.
It is also said that many years ago, a farmer working the fields near the turret found a treasure chest full of gold coins; according to some it was the treasure of the lords of Prata, for others of the gold of the brigands, for others still of the treasure of the fairies.
While trying to understand who was ever that fortune, the farmer and his gold coins there was no more news! Maybe the farmer did not take all the treasure from the turret, maybe there's still something hidden and it's up to you to find it ..... And log it.
