Stop 17: "Effort and Resilience" by Twila Robar-DeCoste
Artist's description of the installation: There are many lines that anchor us to the sea and the soil. This installation is a weir- structure of poles and ropes. The poles represent our effort and resilience to stake a claim in the land and on the sea. The lines support and hold us in place against strong tides of the environment and life. Poles, placed in a circular pattern with some poles alongside, guide visitors into the center. Standing approximately 9-10 ft. in height, it has anchor ropes and netting. It is placed alongside the brook; visitors are cautioned to watch their footing on some areas of uneven ground.
