Geocache Description:


Many people know the name of Makuhari, as Makuhari Messe, and Makuhari New City Center. However, real Makuhari is not there. It was the name of fishing village in old days. The cache is located near JR Makuhari station. Please bring your pen. 幕張という地名を聞くと多くの人は幕張新都心、幕張メッセを思い起こすのでしょう。千葉市花見川区幕張町という住所には、そのような人気の場所は含まれていません。以前の海岸線沿いにある漁村だったのです。幕張の地名の由来は「遠浅の海岸に春ごろ、引き潮になると貝類がまるで幕を張ったようにいた」ということだそうです。椎名誠が６歳から幕張に住み、そのころのことをエッセイにも書いていますね。キャッシュは総武線幕張駅の近くにあります。海浜幕張駅ではありません。筆記具を持参ください。
