This house was featured on the TV show "If These Walls Could Talk" about a decade ago. This house was built in the 1900s by Mr. Robert Hershey. He had been a pharmacist during the Great Kewanee fire. His drug store had burnt down during the fire, so he had moved his store to the enclosed front porch and ran it there for many years. His wife had run a beauty school in the basement from the time the house was built, until after Mr. Hershey had closed his pharmacy. We know this because of files, pictures, documents, and other items discovered in the upstaires "cake topper" of the house, which was the reason why the house was featured on TV.
