Have waited a long time to be able to place a cache here and finally there has been a Telstra Mobile Tower placed high above Somerset Village. It may be an idea to save the cache off line if you are with another phone provider.
Be prepared for masses of Muggles if you are out in the weekend as The Spit Recreation Area where the cache is placed is a popular spot for Water Sports. Why not pack a picnic lunch and relax and enjoy the views.
Lake Somerset is part of the South East Queensland interconnecting bulk water supply network that supplies the regions drinking water. Construction of the Dam Wall began in 1935 but was suspended due to World War !!. Work resumed in 1948 and the dam was completed in 1959.
