Geocache Description:

THIS CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED CO-ORDINATES.

This cache is in honour of one of my favourite hockey teams, the VGK, making the Stanley Cup finals in its first season as a franchise.  This will be known as a great team in many years to come.

There are several famous hockey players that are also known by their nickname, that have gone on to greatness, and that are known to the hockey world as the greats of the game.  You need to know their nickname, and figure out the famous details of these players to determine the final co-ordinates for the cache. Bring a pencil.

Final Co-ordinates is N43 AB.CDE W079 VW.XYZ

Our Cache of Fame players:

Player #1: “The Great One”

This forward is one of the greatest to ever lace the skates, and broke several scoring records. At time of cache posting, he holds the record for most points by a player, and his record for most goals, assists, and points in a season are impressive markers that will be tough to beat.

Player #2: “Number Four”

This defenseman set many records for scoring, and is one of the greatest in the game. He’s famous for scoring “the goal” which won his team the Stanley cup.

Player #3: “Mr. Hockey”

This forward was the face of hockey for many generations, and was the oldest to lace his skates. One of the scoring leaders, he had the opportunity to play hockey with his sons.

Player #4: “Le Gros Bill”

This forward was a true leader on his team, his name is one of the most frequently seen on the Stanley Cup, and lead his “dynasty” team to multiple cups. He was the first player to win the Conn Smythe trophy.

Player #5: “Rocket”

This forward was a goal scoring machine, leading his team to a record five Stanley cups in a row. He was the first player to score 50 goals in 50 games.

Player #6: “The Magnificient One”

This forward was a key factor to help his team win the Stanley Cup, and was an immediate presence on the ice, scoring on his first shot on net. He would be a scoring presence, coming close to hitting the 200 point total in a season.

Player #7: “Uke”

This goaltender was known by this name to his teammates, and he was most determined to keep the puck out of the net. His brilliant performance during the 1951-52 playoffs helped his team win the Stanley Cup in eight straight games, starting a playoff tradition of the octopus.

Player #8: “The Flower”

This forward was a key factor on a dynasty team in the 1970, and lead his team to four straight Stanley Cups, while winning multiple awards.

To find the final location, solve the mathematical puzzle below:

AB = clue about #5

C = #7 allowed this many goals in a game four times during his 1951-52 playoff run.

DE = G.A.A for #7 during the 1951-52 playoff run (multiplied by 10, and rounded to nearest single digit.)

VWXYZ requires some addition.  Add all the following values together:

Most goals in a season for #1, multiplied by 10.

Most assists in a season for #1, multiplied by 10.

The year that #2 scored his OT goal to win the Stanley Cup.

The calendar day on which #2 scored his OT goal to win the Stanley Cup, multiplied by 100.

The number of points for #3 in his last year as oldest player in the NHL.

The year that #4 won the first Conn Smythe trophy.

The year that #5 scored 50 goals in 50 games, multiplied by 10.

Most points in a season for #6, multiplied by 2.

Games played during the 1951-52 playoffs by #7, multiplied by 10.

The year that #8 won four trophies (Stanley Cup, Conn Smythe, Art Ross, Hart)
