Star Trek first aired over 50 years ago. Created by Gene Roddenberry in 1964, the franchise has spawned numerous television series, films, comics, novels, games, and fan fiction...and now there's a Trek-themed GeoArt series in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest.
The Next Generation brought a new captain aboard the USS Enterprise. The show also brought an expanded complement of passengers, as families of crew members joined the ship. Families were also recurring characters in the other series that featured a 24th century Starfleet, Deep Space Nine and Voyager.
