Star Trek first aired over 50 years ago. Created by Gene Roddenberry in 1964, the franchise has spawned numerous television series, films, comics, novels, games, and fan fiction...and now there's a Trek-themed GeoArt series in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest.

Galaxy Quest (1999) was a satire of Star Trek and its enthusiastic fans. In the film, the cast of a Star Trek-style TV series (Galaxy Quest), are recruited by actual aliens who believe the actors are real space explorers that can help them fight an alien menace. Knowing a few facts about this movie will let you discover the North coordinates: N 47 22.ABC

Time travel has been depicted in stories since the beginning of storytelling. There are several ancient myths that depict a character skipping forward in time. The idea of traveling backwards in time became more common in the 19th century and has been a popular theme in science fiction ever since.

Of course, backward time travel introduces more potential problems than going forward, particularly when it comes to causality. A classic example of such a problem is the "grandfather paradox" that questions what would happen if a time traveler affects the past in a way that prevents their own existence in the present. Such problems are countered by the philosophical theory of compossibility and the Novikov self-consistency principle.

Starfleet's concerns about time travel and its potential effects led to the creation of the Department of Temporal Investigations and the Temporal Integrity Commission. Of course, one of the biggest effects of time travel in Star Trek was the creation of the Kelvin Timeline upon which the reboot films are based. In the Prime Timeline series, several episodes have featured time travel. Some episodes involve a time loop, and some feature an alternate timeline. Below are some time travel episodes that focus on preventing changes to the historical record. Identify the series in which each episode occurred to discover the West coordinates: W 121 VW.XYZ

V: Crew members travel to 1968 and encounter Gary Seven, who is on a mission to prevent mankind from destroying itself with nuclear weapons.
W: Crew members travel to 2004 to intercept an alien species that is harvesting human blood, which they'll use to create a toxin that can wipe out the human race.
X: Crew members travel to 1930 and must ensure that a social worker's death is not prevented, as Germany will conquer the world in WWII if she lives.
Y: While trying to escape the gravitational force of a black star, the ship and crew are sent to 1969 and must erase footage of their ship filmed by the US Air Force.
