It's that time of year again! WORLD WIDE FLASH MOB!
This year it will be held on Saturday, June 9th. Event will run at least 12:45PM until 1:15PM, with group picture being precisely at 1:00PM. We will be meeting at Jim Dietrich Park at the flagpole. (If it decides to rain that day, we will meet under the pavilion near the barn).
There is only one way into Jim Dietrich park. Once you drive past the flagpole, you will park in the sizeable lot just past it and walk back to it.
So what is WWFM?! It's a fun and friendly way to promote geocaching around the world! Thousands of geocachers at dozens of coordinated events spanning the globe, gathering at the same time. In 2017, 280 events were held in 27 different countries and more than 8,000 people participated!
Sonny and Sandy came up with the WWFM idea in 2007 after attending a mega-event. It was meant to be a fun “opposite” of a mega-event: all the cool aspects of a geocaching event, crammed into 15 minutes of excitement. An added dimension is represented by the letters "WW" - World Wide - these events occur across the planet on the same day at (mostly) the same time! These caching events are intended to bring geocachers together in a creative way, as well as introduce others (newbies) to the hobby. For more info, check out www.gcwwfm.com!
