A cache by the side of a road leading into/out of a lovely village, so keep an eye on little ones and geohounds. I suggest that it is done as part of a walk, combining other local caches along the road and across the fields. It is not quite a drive by, as there is no immediate adjacent parking (athough there is abundant parking around the village).
Caldbeck is one of the most beautiful and peaceful of all the Lakeland villages, it lies at the foot of the Northern Fells and just inside the Lake District National Park. The timeless character of the village has been preserved as a conservation area where ponies, sheep, cattle and even ducks roam freely.
The village is named after the river (Cald Beck) on which it stands. This river and its tributaries provided the water for the important industrial development of the area in the 17th and 18th centuries - woollen mills, bobbin mills, corn mills, a paper mill and a brewery. The village still reflects this former industrial activity with many of the old mill buildings still in use.
Caldbeck has lots of amenities and picturesque local walks of all standards; from easy strolls along the river side or around the village pond, to the more strenuous nearby mountains of High Pike or Carrock Fell.

I am a massive rock music fan and aim to give clues to each of my caches with reference to one of my favourite bands: Wishbone Ash are a British rock band that formed in Devon in1969. They are framed for their harmonic twin lead guitars, and are often cited as being a major influence on many younger bands that followed. Although at their commercial peak in through the 70s and early 80s; Wishbone Ash and have released 24 studio albums through their career. They have undergone many changes over the years, but the original members are still performing (in two different guises) to this day!
