Geocache Description:

This cache will bring you to a little gem for history buffs! It is located at a sacred tomb and shrine, and is surrounded by one of the oldest trees on Okinawa--one of the very few to survive the Battle of Okinawa. As far back as the 11th century, this area was used as a place of worship and a Ryukyan Lord is enshrined here.  It is still used for modern day worship, so please be respectful.

Once you get to the parking area and see a stone marker, go to the right of the tree and you'll see a small trail.  Continue around until you see some stairs with a metal railing. Take the stairs past the shrines until you are almost at the top of the stairs (if you look over the brick wall at the top you'll see the remnants of the tomb).  The cache will be hidden in a small Tupperware container under a couple of rocks to the right of the steps going up. See the spoiler pic so as not to disturb the area during your search.  This isn't meant to be a difficult find, but rather a discovery of great history!
