This geocache is placed with permission of the Park Manager of Fairy Stone State Park. Fairy Stone State Park is located at 967 Fairystone Lake Drive in Stuart, Virginia. It is one of the six original Virginia State Parks opening on June 15, 1936. With 4,741 acres, Fairy Stone State Park is a great place for swimming, hiking, camping, picnics and wildlife viewing. There is a fee for park entry.
PJ, the little fairy, has lots of friends. One of PJ's best friends is Lizzy the Lizzard. PJ loves playing along the forest floor and vistas of Fairy Stone State Park with Lizzy. They love in particular, going for hikes along the Oak Hickory Trail. Sometimes Lizzy will give PJ a ride on her back, especially when she is too tired to use her little wings. The best of friends, PJ hopes you'll also get to meet Lizzy along the trail. PJ and Lizzy want to remind you that you to please respect their "home" by staying on the trail, not harming any vegetation, and leave only footprints.
There is no reason to get off the trail until your GPS indicates to do so. You will be looking for a medium sized lock-n-lock box with a log and some of PJ's treasures to take/trade for. You will need to bring your own pen. Please leave in original location and well camoflaged. PJ's friend, Lizzy, will be waiting for you.
Congratulations to SKYHAWK63 for being FTF!
