This cache is in a small container located just off the old railway track, now converted into a very pleasant tarmac footpath which runs between Rochdale Road and Saddleworth Road and ultimately over a viaduct to Stainland Road. It is also part of Route 69 of the National Cycle Routes Network.
The cache is named after “The Terriers ” also known as Huddersfield Town FC, our favourite team, to celebrate them managing to stay in the Premier League for their second season (2018/9). The “Two Trees ” part used to be obvious when you got to the cache area, but due to the clearance of trees and undergrowth all that is left are the stumps of the former large trees. The location is still fairly well covered by trees nearby, so GPS reception may be erratic at times.
Please replace carefully as the path is VERY well used and some stealth may be needed.
The cache is a small, camouflaged, tubular container about 100mm (4") long and 20mm (3/4") diameter containing a log-sheet and pencil. We have also placed another cache (Route 69 – West Vale Viaduct) further along the footpath nearer Saddleworth Road.
This cache is most easily located from the footpath off Green Lane, where you can park, but can also be reached, after a short walk, from Stainland Road.
