Geocache Description:

This geocache is placed along the West Bend segment of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail. Please park in or near the designated parking area, located along Paradise Drive. You MAY NOT park at the Silverbrook Girl Scout Camp located to the east. It may look like a road on the map, but it's not and is a private drive. See below for a trail map showing placement of all 7 Disney Magic caches and parking location.

This geocache is placed for the 2018 West Bend Cache Ba$h. It is the last of the seven caches in the series of DISNEY MAGICAL CHARACTERS, with this cache highlighting the character of TINKERBELL from the animated Disney film Peter Pan.

The best way to get to the cache is to start at the parking coordinates off of Paradise Road and hike the Ice Age Trail from the parking lot. Total hiking distance for all seven of the Disney Magic caches is approximately 1.5 miles each way, all along the Ice Age Trail (also known as the Lucas Lake Trail for this segment). If you plan on finding all seven caches in the series and start from the parking coordinates, we suggest finding this one last.

Tinkerbell is a little magical fairy and major character in Disney's 1953 film, Peter Pan. She is Peter Pan's sidekick, and regularly joins his exploits throughout the magical isle of Neverland. Her speech consists of the sounds of a tinkling bell, which is understandable only to those familiar with the language of the fairies.

Though sometimes ill-tempered, jealous, vindictive, and inquisitive, she is also very protective, helpful and kind to Peter. The extremes in her personality are explained in the story by the fact that a fairy's size, no bigger than your hand, prevents her from holding more than one feeling at a time, so when she is angry she has no counterbalancing compassion. Fairies can enable others to fly by sprinkling them with fairy dust (called "pixie dust" in the Disney films).

Tinkerbell has become one of Disney's most important branding icons for over half a century (along with Mickey Mouse), and is generally known as a symbol of “the magic of Disney.” She has been featured in television commercials and Disney movie opening credits sprinkling pixie dust with a wand to fly out to the screen, although in the 1953 animated version she never actually used a wand. In the official Disney Character Archives, she is referred to as a pixie.

If you find any pixie dust in the cache, you’re welcome to take some, but don’t fly away until you’ve signed the log book!
