From its source to its mouth, the Mersey River flows through varied topography, rich agricultural land and many interesting centres of population. The Meandering the Mersey (MTM) series will follow, as much as practical, the course of the Mersey River with caches being placed at varying intervals. We trust you will enjoy the area.
Once a forgotten area which was the site for thoughtless disposal of industrial waste, residents formed an action group to join with the Devonport City Council to cleanup the area and make it an attractive location by the river. As with all locations along the lower Mersey River, the views from this quiet spot vary markedly during the day as the tide rises and falls. As the area has been restored, small flocks of pelicans have taken up residence and move around the area as the falling tide exposes areas of mud flats. At times, these large birds come quite close to the banks of the river.
This cache is a 400mL Sistema with limited room for swaps.
