The cache is placed at an interesting assortment of huge, old growth log chunks. Perhaps it was part of an old bridge which spanned nearby San Juan river? Who knows. The cache is not placed anywhere near or on or under the bridges.
This cache is placed in a remote area so all precautions like a good working 4x4 or bike or a good pair of sturdy shoes or hiking boots will get you to this location. The road we took was grassy lined, green and beautiful. We needed to trim the odd over hanging branch. The surface was good except for the odd large rocks which have rolled from the hill. If walking, carry bear spray or travel in groups. Let someone know your plan and carry a satellite device like Inreach or Spot because there is no cell service. We drove in from the Glenora gate which is open on Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 6pm. You need to sign in and out again. The gate may be closed during fire season.
