My first hide! This cache was placed on a portion of the North/South Trail in Land Between the Lakes, KY. This is a very easy cache for you to grab. It is only a short hike up a well traveled trail. This was placed by me and my 8yo son on father's day 2018. We loaded it with little goodies for trade, a log with pencils/pens and a FTF token. You will be looking for a plastic ammo can with flourescent markings. This area has a good view of the lake with better veiws during fall winter as the trees lose their leaves. Farther along the trail you will find numerous old foundations from the prior residents of the area. My son found a snake (non-venomous) as he was exploring the foundations.
The North/South (N/S) Trail spans the entire length of Land Between The Lakes (LBL). The full length is approximately 60 miles. The northern portion of the N/S Trail consists mainly of single track trails meandering from shoreline to heavily wooded ridges. The northern portion has seven springs, three backcountry shelters for overnight camping, and a connector trail to the Nature Station. The trail leads users to scenic remote areas and developed facilities. The trail provides stretches where users walk parallel to Kentucky Lake and sweep into large bottoms offering a sense of solitude. The N/S Trail intersects many of LBL’s designated roads allowing for many loop opportunities and access points to hike the trail piece by piece. The N/S Trail is a multiple-use trail. Bikers and hikers share the northern portion of the trail.
