Matera is not only about "Sassi". There are other interesting places to see in this city. I propose you to visit "Parco Scultura La Palomba" which is an area near the rock churches. It features many sculptures, most of them made by Antonio Paradiso, who is also the sculptor that wanted this outdoor exhibition. He used an old quarry tuff as work area and placed his unusual works. The entrance is free and there is plenty of parking space. If you want, you can contribute to the cure of this area by an offer. The access to the area is from SS7, just outside of Matera. From the exhibition area you can also view the ravine. Some of the sculptures are made from steel from 9/11 ground zero.

Matera non significa solo Sassi. Ci sono anche altri posti interessanti da visitare qui. Vi propongo un visita al "parco Scultura La Palomba" situato vicino alle chiese rupestre. Qui trovate molte sculture, molte di loro di Antonio Paradiso, il scultore che ha voluto questa esposizione ad aria aperta, postando i suoi lavori in una vecchia cava di tuffo abbandonata. L'entrata è gratis e trovate abbastanza spazio per parcheggiare la macchina. Se volete, potete contribuire con un'offerta alla cura del parco. L'accesso si fa dalla SS7, proprio all'uscita di Matera. Dalla parte alta della zona potete vedere anche la gravina. Alcune sculture sono fatte con acciaio proveniente dalle torri gemelle di New York.
