Boat Harbour

Boat Harbour is a secluded beach accessible by 4WD. You may need to drop the pressure in your tyres - particularly in the summer.
It is located 35 km west of Denmark, off the South Coast Highway, midway between Parry Beach and Peaceful Bay.
The Bibbulmun Track passes through forest and dunes past this distant bay. The landscape is quite unique to the area
with heath covered dunes and rocky terrain, with only a few tall trees, as the soft sand and marsh cannot support
the large karri, jarrah and gums typically associated with the south coast.
Swimming is not advised as the beach is surounded on both sides by rocky headlands and at times this area is prone
to large waves, surges and rips. There is nothing between this coast and the Antarctic so do not under estimate
the power of this ocean. Your safety is your responsibility so pay close attention to the signs and be alert.
There is a rock pool at the far end of the beach which is great for the kids to paddle in but keep an eye on them
at all times. Boat Harbour is surrounded by the Quarram Nature Reserve which includes Owingup Swamp - dogs not permitted.
So if you want to see some great scenery, enjoy a quiet secluded spot for a picnic - then Boat Harbour shouldn't be missed - and please don't tell any locals we told you about this spot!
