In de nacht van vrijdag 27 op zaterdag 28 juli 2018 vindt een totale maansverduistering plaats. Hierbij beweegt de Maan zich door de schaduw van de Aarde, zodat er geen direct zonlicht meer op het maanoppervlak valt en de hele Maan veel donkerder is dan normaal. De verduistering heeft een grootte van maarliefst 1.61 in de kernschaduw, wat betekent dat de Maan zich dicht bij het centrum van de aardschaduw bevindt en sterk verduisterd wordt. De eclips begint om 19:14 uur en staat bij het maximum, om 22:22 uur, op een hoogte van circa 6° (in Utrecht). De eclips eindigt om 1:31 uur. Een totale maansverduistering kan erg indrukwekkend zijn. Tijdens de totaliteit, die duurt van 21:31 tot 23:14 uur, bevindt de Maan zich volledig in de kernschaduw van de Aarde en valt er geen direct zonlicht meer op de Maan. Echter, een beetje zonlicht valt door de aardatmosfeer en wordt gebroken, waardoor dit het maanoppervlak alsnog kan bereiken. Dit is met name rood licht, waardoor er een rode gloed over de Maan komt. We zijn vanaf 21:00 van harte welkom. Ook kunnen we uitleg krijgen. De eindtijd van het event staat op 22:15. Dit is het geschatte hoogte punt van de verduistering, maar we mogen langer blijven om naar de rest van te blijven kijken.
Rolstoel toegankelijkheid? Het zijn paden die met een fiets goed te rijden zijn.
De toegang is gratis. Er zit een maximum op van 30 personen. Opgeven dient te gebeuren als "Dit team bestaat uit #3 personen." (of dat wat van toepassing is). Bij de ingang wordt gecontroleerd.
Neem je eigen kijker mee. Er zal er minimaal één aanwezig zijn.
Helaas kon het in Almere niet doorgaan, dus is het naar Bussum verplaatst.
