This area gives some amazing views to the fjord on the north side of Inderøy - the Beitstad Fjord. The farmlands around here also produce a lot of caraway and Inderøy actually accounts for more than 95% of Norwegian caraway production. For that reason, an aquavit distillery has opened here recently. Caraway is a crucial ingredient for the Scandinavian aquavit tradition. The one in Inderøy is near the cache. Even though is kind of "inland" Inderøy wise, you can still cleary see the fjord an Kjerknesvågen Bay from here.
Golden Caches
Inderøy is a municipality in Trøndelag. Inderøy has almost 7000 inhabitants. Farming, construction, food processing and tourism are the largest sources for employment. Inderøy literally means "The Inner Island" but is, in fact, a peninsula. It is known to be picturesque and has several beautiful farms. One of the old roads, or routes, that leads you through Inderøy is often referred to as "The Golden Road/detour" (Den Gyldne Omvei in Norwegian). Sights, hiking trails, beautiful old and maintained farms and businesses that accommodate travellers are visible from the route today. In June 2018 nine caches were placed alongside this route.
