Every ranch has one, that "elephants' graveyard" to which all old or ailing animal friends (or enemies) go. I'm sure some will not appreciate many details (for instance, how many black bears have I seen sharing a meal), but it is a place to remember all the good animals that have passed on.
I did have a discussion with a living garter snake when I planted this, so treat him gently if he decides to return to his favorite basking place.
