Watch for Muggles! This cache was placed for the 2018 Healthy Trails Henderson Geocaching Event.

The goldfish is a well-known species of fish that has been sold world-wide for use in aquariums, ponds and water gardens for hundreds of years. Native to eastern Asia, goldfish were first kept as pets in China around the year 960 and have been reared and sold as pets ever since. They are commonly thought to be the first foreign fish species to be introduced to North America from overseas. Goldfish are unfortunately often released into ponds, lakes or streams by people who no longer want them. This can greatly upset the balance of nature making it difficult for native species to find enough food.

Please be respectful of campground sites and make use of designated trails. Conservation Authority Personnel remind us that there is a small entry fee into the Conservation Area. When the attendant isn't present, there is a self service drop box by the gate house. Also make note of the park hours as the entrance gates are locked each night. Please remember that off trail hiking is discouraged as it negatively impacts the environment. The area is well populated with animals, so please leave no food and re-hide the cache before leaving. Parking is available at: N42.52.688 W082.11.204. In the off season, (October to April) parking may not be available when the front gate is closed. If you do gain access to the parking lot, please park close to the Nature Education Centre so that Conservation Authority Staff don't accidentally lock you onto the property. Please re-hide carefully. There are a lot of exploring young muggles, especially during the camping season.
