I have been living in NYC since 2007. I grew up in a tiny rural town in the Hudson Valley of upstate NY. Although I have absolutely loved my experience here, I am constantly itching to find a rugged hiking experience that I am used to in the Adirondacks. It took me until just a couple of years ago to venture out to Forest Park. And although it isn't exactly extreme trecking through the mountains, it does allow you to forget you are in the middle of one of the worlds largest Metropolitan area. This is probably my favorite park in the city! The cache is several yards off the beaten path. It may startle you... be calm. If you done bother it, it won't bother you!
