The Once in a Lifetime geocaching series...continues here! Do NOT attempt this cache on your own. There is no cell reception and it's extremely challenging terrain. After our group of four attempted to reach the Survival series along the shore with the lake level too high, we decided to try the high "road" instead. Just beyond this spot, we realized the land route wasn't going to work, but I left a cache behind for anyone else foolish enough to bushwhack out here. There's a bit of a "clearing" at this spot, and the cache is hanging about eye level. The D level is 2.5 just because it's a micro in an area with terrible GPS reception, but it's bright green and really shouldn't be too hard to spot if you find the right area. While my fellow hikers signed in on the spot, FTF honors are still available to the first to find after it's published.
Also please note, if you plan to drive in on West Ridgecrest, the road is only open from 9:00 a.m. until sunset.
Congratulations to Blackavar1 for the FTF!
