Geocache Description:

This island at the edge of the Tullaroop Reservoir, Majorca, is the site of the former Rodborough School no. 1765. The school was built in 1876 and was only used for eighteen years. A sign at the centre of the island states: "School 1765 Rodborough, 1876 - 1894". You will see the sparse remains of the building close to the sign.

This secluded spot offers views over Tullaroop Reservoir, and from the southern side of the island you can see the impressive Bucknall Church standing among the trees across the water which is now private property. This island is a great, quiet spot for fishing, birdwatching or bushwalking. Swimming, camping and boating are Not permitted at Tullaroop Reservoir.

Warning The island is accessible by 4wd vehicles (and 2wd in dry conditions) when the water is low. When the reservoir is particularly full the access road can often be underwater hence why its called an island. The road in, is fairly rough and one spot is likely to be quite muddy. A four wheel drive vehicle is recommended, but a two wheel drive vehicle may make it through in dry conditions. If the reservoir is full and the road across to the island is underwater, do not attempt to drive through.
