Geocache Description:

THis cache is placed opposite the site of one of the many Hythe's (inland ports) which used to join perpendicularly onto Burwell Lode, and where the many fen lighters (low, fenland barges) could load and unload their wares in Victorian times. There were hythes on either side of the road here, (though there is only the evidence of one of them) leading right up to Toll Cottage (at the end of Low Road) where fares would have been paid to utilise the port. The cache is a novelty micro cache. Tweezers definitely required.
