Come join us for ArkGeo's Fall CITO. This will be an opportunity for cachers to help the park collect trash as a thank you for their generosity in supporting geocaching. Trash is unsightly, plus causes dangerous complications for wildlife, so we can reduce those risks by collecting the garbage and disposing of it properly. Our efforts will also help to beautify the park for all visitors throughout the year.
Geocaching.com is offering a new souvenir to any cacher who attends a CITO September 15-23, 2018. Help us clean up the park, enjoy fellowship with cachers, and earn a new souvenir.
Keep Arkansas Beautiful has supplied us with some gloves, trash bags, and door prizes. We would like to THANK them for their support of geocaching during our CITO events.
WHAT: A CITO (trash pick-up) Event
WHERE: Illinois Bayou Park, Russellville, AR
WHEN: September 22, 2018
TIME: 10:00 - 11:30 am
BRING: Work gloves, boots, grabbing tools
HOSTS: Arkansas Geocachers Association via Racquetball Girl
PROVIDED: Bottled Water, trash bags, cotton gloves
We will meet in the parking lot and then spread out to collect trash. There is water front property, fence line property along I-40 (we will remain on the park side of the fence), numerous trails (walking and mountain bike), plus wooded areas and parking lots. A boat ramp is available if anyone wants to clean trash from the water. A restroom is provided near the parking lots.
I have contacted the Russellville City Parks Department and they will send an employee to pick-up the trash that we accumulate, after lunch.
