Town of Landis Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

PapawandGami: The town of Landis is adding 6 new holes to it's disc golf course, one of which goes through GZ. With the growth of this part of the park, it seems prudent to archive this cache. Thanks to all the geocachers who made the effort to find this multicache. It means alot!

Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Town of Landis.

This has been my home for 12 years. I am not one who was born and raised here, but I love this town as a place that my wife and I have raised our kids. Many of the other caches I have put out showcase some of the areas where we have spent our time. This cache will introduce you to some of the important and one of the fun areas of our little town. You might run into me at your last stop as I spend as much time here as I can, either disc golfing or looking for nooks and crannies to stick new geocaches. Or message me, and I may meet you at GZ for a celebrated find. The first Multi-Cache in Landis! Come back and visit often!

This cache will require you to visit 4 virtual sites, collect the needed information, and solve for the final coordinates. The final container is a large Bison. The final will also take you fairly deep in the woods. Come prepared for a hike, bugs, animals, spider webs, and anything else that comes out of trees to chase you.

N 35° U.H    W 080° FG.X

The initial coordinates will lead you to the corner of the building that doubles as Town Hall/Alderman Board Room and Fire Station #2.

Initial Coordinates
I: Year that Station 2 was Dedicated
J: Year that Landis was established
K: Number of panes on Station 2's 3 Bay Doors
L: Number of SQUARE window panes on the part of the Building with Fire Station Entrance.
M: The number of buttons on the front of the shirt of the statue.
Calculate: I - J - K + L - M - 7 = U

Waypoint 2
H: First two digits of the year Landis Gazebo was built (on plaque)

Waypoint 3
Verdin Company's Zip Code ABCDE B - C = F A + E = G
N: Year Verdin Company was established (needed for WP4)
O: Year Clock was bulit (needed for WP4)

Waypoint 4
P: Year (four digits) at the base of the flagpole
Q: Month at the base of the flagpole
S: Day at the base of the flagpole
(N + O + P + J + I) ÷ (Q+S) - 60 = X
Throw away the decimal.

At this point you should have the coordinates to the final position. It's a bit of a walk (0.25 mile) from the parking area. Please take care getting to the cache. Stop think and investigate. If it's too much for you, just walk away, or send me a message, I am happy to offer assistance. I want you to be able to sign the log! Thank you to Andrew at Landis Parks and Rec for permission to hide geocaches in this nature area.
