“MOONTAN BIKER’S” - LET NOT THE DEEP SWALLOW ME UP !
I thought this would be a great place to hide a cache, after a walk from either Skateraw to the west or Thorntonloch from the east along the perimeter walkway of Torness power station which leads you to the mooring of Dunbar’s RNLI lifeboat.
The lifeboat was at one time stationed at Dunbar harbour but at low tide it can ground boats from leaving the harbour as the waters not deep enough, a new location was identified here at Torness power station which has a deep harbour that was made during the power stations construction to bring materials & parts by sea that were too big for road transport, the lifeboat is protected as is the whole perimeter with huge concrete casted blocks which like the mangrove swamps protect the shore from erosion by taking the energy out of the oncoming waves.
