Welcome Cachers! This ambitious challenge will take you on a tour down London’s Hamilton Road District and beyond, while following the Tree Trunk Tour. This public art show seems to have been embraced by the city and continues to grow as a co-operative partnership across the city.
As a cacher, we see plenty of holey tree trunks - after all, they make a great hiding spot. These particular trunks, however, have been carved by skilled artists using chainsaws and other carving tools. Some of these carvings were done on existing trees that died on-site, or carved off-site and then moved to its current location. The tour was originally started with five carvings that were completed for fundraising activities in the community.
This Multi-Cache will take you up the main “trunk” of the tour where the highest concentration can be found. Each stop is a virtual waypoint with no physical container until the final stage. Each stop will require you to find some information and answer a question that will help towards the final cache location.
There are two main types of virtual waypoints Required and Alternative. Required carvings have questions that will need to be solved to locate the final coordinates. As occasionally circumstances such as construction may interfere with access to the carvings, I have also included Alternative carvings. This will enable you to have flexibility and verification options in the field. There are also optional Additional Hint carvings that will provide a clue to solve the cipher and reveal the hint.
The container is not at the posted coordinates. This is however the welcome sign carving located here to get you excited for what is to come!
The waypoints can be found in any order, however being prepared and organized is key!

The Course
I have tried to make this multi-cache accessible to as many cachers as possible. While many will choose to drive, I would encourage you to consider walking or cycling the route if possible as you will be better able to appreciate (and investigate) the art up close. This has been done by a number of muggles. That being said, many of the locations have parking available or close-by, and there is public transportation along the route as well.
