The Chandler Trail. A chance to take a nice Sunday drive with the kids from From Armidale to Wollomombi, with a loop back around via Thorpleigh Road, and grab some easy caches along the way (no hints!).
You are right up in the Baker's Creek head waters here and provides a reliable source of persistent waterholes for farms downstream, even in dry years. From these paddocks it flows down into the Oxley Wild Rivers gorge country at Baker's Creek Falls, Hillgrove, not far from where I live, so I had to mark the crossing with a cache :)
Please bear in mind this route will take you through private properties with cattle and sheep in the paddocks the road passes through (even if you don't see them). If you have dogs with you please keep them on a lead so the locals don't become anxious, as they do have problems with wild dogs out here.
