[RO] În secolul al XVIII-lea s-au așezat la Blaj mai mulți călugări greci uniți cu Roma. Cel mai proeminent a fost ieromonahul Leontie Moschonas, un învățat călugăr grec din insula Naxos, care a venit la Blaj împreună cu episcopul Inocențiu Micu, care l-a numit arhimandrit. Moschonas a pus bazele bibliotecii din Blaj și a murit la Blaj în 1758. Biserica își are numele de la călugării greci care au deservit-o inițial.
În cimitirul bisericii se găsesc mormintele unor personalități ale Bisericii Române Unite cu Roma, precum Timotei Cipariu, Ioan Axente Sever, Alexandru Sterca-Șuluțiu, Ioan Micu Moldovan, Ioan Rusu, Ionel Pop, Ștefan Manciulea and Basiliu Rațiu.
[EN] In the 18th century, several Greek monks united with Rome settled in Blaj. The most prominent was hieromonk Leontie Moschonas, a learned Greek monk from the island of Naxos, who came to Blaj with the bishop Inocentiu Micu, who called him archimandrite. Moschonas laid the foundations of the Blaj library and died in Blaj in 1758. The church is named after the Greek monks who served it initially.
In the cemetery of the church there are the tombs of some personalities of the Romanian Church United with Rome, such as Timothy Cipariu, Ioan Axente Sever, Alexandru Sterca-Şuluţiu, Ioan Micu Moldovan, Ioan Rusu, Ionel Pop, Ştefan Manciulea and Basiliu Raţiu.
